Discovered Grieves on recommendation from a co-worker. I’d heard his name a handful of times but never took the time to investigate. Chicago born, relocated to Seattle where he hooked up with now producer, Budo, and the rest is history?
Listened to his most recent album, The Confessions of Mr. Modest, start to finish and was pretty into it.
My favorite? Ate Your Soul:
Enjoy!
It doesn’t get much more Northwest than this, my friends.

Love the Macklemore cameo.
Great shot taken by a friend at the Seattle hip hop showcase at South by Southwest. See? I was not joking about being front and center. Macklemore put on quite a show- short as the set was- it was a full on mid-afternoon dance party. With free beer, how could it not be?
The real crowd-pleaser was ‘And We Danced,’ with the shag wig and everything… Something you have to experience in person to fully appreciate.
Anyway- give it a listen:
Whoa. As a Seattle native, very familiar with Sasquatch Festival, I can say with confidence that they are really stepping things up this year. One, the line-up is insane and Two, it’s already sold-out ?! That is crazy talk.
The Line-up, with those I’d chop my arm off to see- in bold:

Macklemore is a man of his word. Today he released, as promised, a new song that didn’t quite make the cut for his VS. EP.
It is pretty hilarious and definitely worth a listen:
Macklemore- Stay at Home Dad
Macklemore‘s EP finally hit the internet today. Click the image to get yours, free. Hailing from the 206, he released an album back in 2005 and a mixtape earlier this year. I’d say he’s got a pretty decent following up north- and although I may have a little bit of that Seattle bias, I really think this guy is about to do some big things. Macklemore in 2010. Look out.
